Mirror, Mirror on the wall, Who is the invincible of us all?
We are continuing to cover what constitutes the art of self-disruption for leaders in the age of AI.
You can find the pre-cursor to this blog here.
4. Build Coherence
The story of AI is not a story of tragedy.
It is one of co-habitation that will move our lives to unprecedented territories.
As a leader, building coherence is a skill that will make this reality possible.
Rather than getting caught in “either or” mindset, it pays to look at “and” mindset and explore with curiosity what humans and AI can do together.
Curiosity will help us to connect the dots (synthesis) when they seemingly appear disparate.
Strategic systems thinking is a huge accelerator.
5. Balance Future with the Present
One of the reasons for 'AI fatigue' is the absence of widespread tangible implementations available, that are both impactful and sustainable.
To many people, it looks like ivory tower thinking.
It does look unreal to many.
For us to influence and onboard people to the inevitable, leaders should have a balanced approach to the present and future.
This means building realism for today while pursuing vision for the future. Grounding in the present while looking at the future is essential.
6. Open mind to emergent futures
The one thing that creates jitters in the use of AI is the unpredictability of outcomes.
For any leader, it means loss of control for something of value to emerge.
While many leaders would consider it a failure to get an outcome that was not planned, that is the essential skill for building resilience in the age of AI.
To not know what is coming, and yet to be prepared for it, is the name of the game.
7. Ego-Systems Vs Eco-systems
The power equation is going to tilt.
Humans who have prided themselves on knowledge are going to be shown their place.
To lose to machines is not easy.
This is going to rejig some power centres.
The endeavour of humans is to build eco-systems and let go of ego-systems.
The power of the collective is going to surpass any individual's capacity.
While letting go of the ego has (always) been a character building exercise, it is soon going to become a survival exercise.
